I like the brush rotation and aspect ratio controls, but I miss something to flip the brush like this:

http://gimp-brainstorm.blogspot.com/2009/04/flip-brush.html

This option flips the brush like a mirror. It is not interesting in symmetrical brushes, but It would be awesome with most of artistic brushes.

I think that programming this feature doesn't need too much time, and It would be very interesting for users.

In other way, It would be awesome allowing "gradient color brushes", where the brush is saved as a grayscale image with alpha channel. This brush is coloriced from the current gradient (like color->map->gradient map). This would allow more realistic brushes but allowing color variations (for example, a flame, where You can use different shades of yellow).

I think that my first suggestion is more important and easy to program.

Sorry if my English is bad. Also, I don't know if "gradient map" exist, because I have GIMP in Spanish, and I can't change it to English and look this menu entry.

Thanks for develop GIMP.

The current plan is to get serious about 16bit sup...

The current plan is to get serious about 16bit support in GIMP 2.10.
